I grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts, went to Belmont Hill and then Harvard, and played squash.

I love writing. Most of mine appears first on Fourth Floor Light, my Substack: essays; Thoughts from New Quincy, a column I wrote at Harvard; and Kitchen Sink, a serialized story written with Jonah Karafiol.

I love art, too, and wrote my thesis on contemporary art. Building Without Permission is about artists who build without institutional permission, among them El Anatsui, Mark Bradford, and Theaster Gates. All five chapters are here.

Away from the page, I love running and squash.
